ARTIST STATEMENT

“Art is an experience.”

“Art is an experience” my experiences producing art is captured via the work then experienced by persons viewing it. Looking closely at my work you will see elation from getting various elements just right, the pain from things that go wrong and a myriad of stories just waiting to be seen and felt.

I use a wide range of materials and disciplines as it allows me to express my work in the form that best articulates the concept. In my mind to be bound by material would not allow me to fully explore my subject matter. Truthful expression is the technique I constantly strive to master.

My style is grounded in realism, but would be better described as an expressive, contemporary abstract, mixed with some form of surrealism. Again, my subject matter guides me, making me unafraid to successfully explore new styles and forms.
